About Canadian Rickards/Rowe
Please sign in to see more. This site is a work in progress. If you are visiting this site I ask that you sign the guest book.
I started this project as means of providing a legacy for my children and grandkids. A means to see were we (Rickard’s) originated, and how we have spread out on this world. Needless to say, it has grown much more. My starting point was Donna and myself, going as far back as I could (Lawrence and Joanne abt. 1580) with my limited resources, mostly the internet. Then try and follow forward as many of the various family lines as possible. Like wise I am tracing back Donna's (Rowe) side of the family who settled in Trinity Bay and Hearts Content in Newfoundland approximately 1753. I am thankful for the extensive work already done on the Rowe's of Newfoundland.
I apologize to anyone who may be upset with what I have done. My intent has not been to offend anyone but to provide a map of our family history for future generations to explorer. I know there have been secrets and skeletons hidden for years, but what has been will be and the only thing we need to fear is fear itself. Remember, when all else fails, you still have family.
Along the way I have discovered relatives I never knew existed. It has been a wonderful experience. As we grown older we realize when our parents pass away our history starts to disappear. There are so many questions I wished I had asked my parents and grandparents. I want to thank my Uncle George, who provided me with my initial back ground information from his research, Anthony who provided me with my initial map, Denise who has provide numerous corrections, Collin who provided me with a copy of his Rickard Chronicle's version 2,and a few genealogy sites where I obtained additional information. Most important now, continues to be the information provided by many newly discovered relations.
